# Activate SharePoint storage by Silex

## Firms without a SharePoint can have one provisioned by Silex in one click, hosted on Swiss sovereign infrastructure, with documents indexed automatically.

If your firm does not have a SharePoint, Silex can provision one for you.

## How do you activate SharePoint storage by Silex?

To activate your storage, follow these steps:

1. In Silex, navigate to **Settings** and select **Connected Apps**.
2. Click **Activate** next to *SharePoint storage by Silex*.

Once activated, a confirmation message — "Your storage is activated" — will appear, along with an **Add files to your storage** button. Your files are stored on servers in Switzerland and are never used to train Silex's models.

## What file types can you upload to Silex storage?

You can upload:

- Text files
- Word documents (.doc, .docx)
- PDFs, both text-based and scanned

Scanned documents and images without a text layer are supported as well — OCR is applied automatically during indexing so their content becomes searchable.

## What are the storage limits for Silex storage?

Your total storage is capped by your plan's allowance — an amount that varies by plan (see your plan details for current limits) — plus any add-ons you have purchased. There is no separate per-file limit beyond fitting within that overall quota.
