# Organisation roles: Owner, Admin, Admin · Management only and Member

## The four roles in a Silex organisation, what each can do, and which ones use a paid seat.

Every user in an organisation has one role. It decides what they can do and whether they use a paid seat. You can see each user's role in the **Role** column of **Manage organization**.

### What are the four roles?

- **Owner**: manages the organisation and uses Silex. There is one Owner per organisation. Uses a paid seat.
- **Admin**: manages the organisation and uses Silex. Uses a paid seat.
- **Admin · Management only**: manages the organisation but does not use Silex. Does not use a seat and is marked **Not billed**.
- **Member**: uses Silex, without access to the organisation's administration. Uses a paid seat.

### What can administrators do?

The Owner and administrators (including **Admin · Management only**) can:

- invite users and choose their role;
- change a user's role and delete users;
- follow credit usage and export it as CSV;
- configure single sign-on (SSO);
- connect the organisation's Silo from **Connected Apps**.

Only the Owner can transfer ownership. An Admin cannot delete another administrator or change their role.

### What does a management-only administrator see?

Only the administration area (**Manage organization**, **Connected Apps**) and the FAQ. The chat, source search, the Toolkit and the agents are hidden. This role suits people who manage your Silex account without doing legal work, such as an HR manager or an IT administrator.

### Why is a management-only administrator not billed?

They do not use Silex, so they do not take a seat and are not counted in **seats used**. You can add one at no extra cost, even when all your seats are used.

### How do I give someone a role?

When you invite them (**Invite user** › **Role**), or later from **⋮** › **Role** next to their name. See the article on changing a user's role and transferring ownership.
