[Translator Agent](https://help.silex.legal/en/knowledge-base/getting-started?hsLang=en#translator-agent) # Uploading a document and choosing translation settings ## Where to find the Document Translator, which file formats and sizes are supported, and how to set your source and target languages. ### Where do I find the Translator? The Translator is located in the Toolkit section of the Silex app. Open the Toolkit tab from the sidebar, then select the Translator card to launch it.  ### What file formats are accepted? The Translator accepts .doc and .docx files only. PDF files are not supported as input. If your document is in PDF format, convert it to DOCX before uploading (for example, using Microsoft Word or an online converter). ### Is there a file size or page limit? Yes. The maximum file size is 100 MB and the maximum is 400 pages per document. For longer documents, split them into parts and run separate translation jobs. ### How do I select the source and target languages? At the top of the upload screen, you will see two language selectors separated by a swap arrow. Set the source language (the language of your document) on the left, and the target language (the language you want to translate into) on the right. Click the swap arrow to reverse the direction if needed. ### What languages are supported? The Translator supports the four official Swiss legal languages: French, German, Italian, and English. You can translate in any direction between these four languages. ### What is the "Keep terminology notes" toggle? When enabled, the Translator generates a Terminology notes tab alongside your translated document, listing key legal terms, their translated equivalents, and explanatory notes. It is enabled by default and recommended for legal documents. ### How do I start the translation? Select your source and target languages, configure the Terminology notes toggle as needed, drag and drop your .doc/.docx file (or click "search on your device" to browse), then click the "Translate" button. ### Can I upload multiple documents at once? Currently, the Translator processes one document per job.
