Incognito mode: conversations that leave no trace

A private chat space where nothing is saved: no history entry, nothing on Silex servers, and permanent deletion the moment you close the window.

Incognito mode is a private chat space within Silex where you ask legal questions exactly as in a normal chat, with one key difference: nothing is saved. The conversation does not appear in your history, is not stored on Silex servers, and is permanently deleted the moment you close the Incognito window.

Where do I find Incognito mode?

From the top-right corner of the chat interface. Click the "Incognito" button — shown with a dashed circle icon when inactive, switching to an × when active — to open a dedicated Incognito window. No configuration is required.

How is it different from a normal chat?

Visually, the Incognito window carries a violet tint to remind you that you are in a private session. Functionally it works identically: same engine, same structured answers with source references, same filters.

What happens when I close the window?

The entire conversation is permanently and immediately deleted. There is no recovery option — nothing in your Recents, no history entry, nothing on Silex's servers.

Can I keep something from an Incognito session?

Only by exporting it before you close the window. Export it as Word or PDF, or copy the content you need. That export is a local, one-time copy — it is not stored on Silex's side.

Can Silex staff see my Incognito conversations?

No. Incognito conversations are not stored on Silex's servers and are not accessible to anyone, including Silex staff, once the window is closed.

Does Incognito protect against someone looking at my screen?

No. Incognito protects against data being saved or retrievable after the session ends. It does not prevent anyone physically present from seeing your screen. For on-screen privacy, use standard physical precautions.

Does Incognito cover the Toolkit agents?

No. Incognito applies to the chat interface only. Toolkit agents are accessed separately and operate under their own processing and privacy rules.

Is Incognito suitable for privileged work?

Incognito is designed to leave no trace of the session within Silex. Professional confidentiality obligations, however, depend on your structure and the applicable cantonal or federal rules. Consult your own professional obligations before relying on any technical tool for privilege-sensitive work. Silex does not provide legal advice on this point.

I closed the window by accident. Can I recover the conversation?

No. Once the Incognito window is closed, the conversation is permanently gone, by design. If you believe an Incognito session has been saved when it should not have been, contact support@silex.legal immediately.
