Silo security, permissions and data hosting
Silo mirrors your existing SharePoint permissions, stores index data on Swiss sovereign infrastructure, and never uses your documents to train AI models.
Does Silex respect my existing SharePoint permissions?
Yes. Silex mirrors your SharePoint access rules. Users in Silex only see and can query documents they are already allowed to access in SharePoint.
If I revoke someone's access to a folder, does Silex update immediately?
Yes. Permission changes made in SharePoint are reflected in Silex without delay.
Where is my indexed data stored?
Index data is stored on Infomaniak, the same Swiss sovereign cloud infrastructure used throughout Silex. Regional compliance is built in by design.
Is my content used to train Silex's AI models?
No. Silex never uses your documents to train AI models. Your content remains exclusively yours, and is never reused, shared, or referenced outside your organisation.
Does connecting SharePoint move or copy my files?
No. Your source files are never moved or copied out of their original location, depending on which integration you use.
With Connect my SharePoint, your source files never leave SharePoint. Silex only indexes their content through a read-only sync — there is no local file storage and no migration.
With SharePoint storage by Silex, the files you actively upload live in your provisioned, Silex-managed SharePoint space, on Swiss sovereign infrastructure.
Are access events logged?
Yes. Access events are logged for audit purposes as part of the integration.
