Understanding your comparison results
How long a comparison takes, what the severity levels mean, and how to read the change report from the Documents Comparison agent.
How long does processing take?
Processing time depends on document length and complexity. Most comparisons are ready within a few minutes. You can leave the page — the agent runs in the background.
Do I have to stay on the screen while it processes?
No. You can navigate freely within Silex after launching the job. A toast notification appears when the comparison is ready. You can also find the completed job under Recents → Tools tab in the sidebar.
What does the result screen show?
The results screen shows a global narrative summary describing the overall nature of the transformation, a change counter broken down by severity (Critical, Important, Minor, Formatting), and a detailed change list organized by section — each entry showing page number, section name, original text, modified text, change type badge, and a legal explanation. Two view tabs are available: "Changes only" (default) and "Full document" (coming soon).
What do the severity levels mean?
-
Critical — changes that fundamentally alter the document's legal scope, identity, or enforceability (e.g. removal of party names, deletion of key clauses)
-
Important — significant changes that affect substance but may not render the document unenforceable on their own
-
Minor — small textual changes with limited legal impact (e.g. rephrasing, clarifications)
-
Formatting — changes to layout, spacing, or style with no legal substance
Can I download the comparison report?
A dedicated download option is not available in the current version. If you need to save or share the report, use your browser's print function (Print → Save as PDF) as a workaround. Report this as a need via the in-app feedback tool or contact support@silex.legal if it is important to your workflow.
Where do I find my result if I dismissed the notification?
Go to Recents → Tools tab in the left sidebar. Your completed Document Comparison job will be listed there by file name pair.
