Using your SharePoint (Silo) documents in the chat
Attach documents from your connected SharePoint directly in a chat, so answers cross-reference your firm's own material alongside Swiss legal sources.
If your firm has connected its document base through Silo, you can query your own documents from the chat — and Silex answers by cross-referencing both its legal database and your material, with source citations either way.
How do I attach a document from my SharePoint?
Use the + button in the chat input. Alongside "Add files" (from your device), you will find "Add from SharePoint" and "Add from SharePoint by Silex", depending on which Silo option your organisation uses. A file and folder picker opens, with checkboxes for folders and individual files.
Can I restrict the search to one case folder?
Yes. Rather than attaching your whole document tree, select a specific folder — "Case Dupont", for example — or a single document. Narrowing the scope to the matter at hand gives markedly more precise answers.
What does an answer based on my own documents look like?
The same structured format as any other Silex answer, with citations that link back to your original file or its SharePoint URL. The "References and sources used" section lists every document analysed — both your own files and the Silex legal sources used.
Does this get around the 60-page limit of the chat?
Yes, in practice. The roughly 60-page ceiling applies to documents uploaded directly into a prompt. Silo indexes your document base so it can be searched at a different scale — which is why large case files belong in Silo rather than in an attachment.
Who can see which documents?
Silex mirrors your SharePoint access rules: a user only sees and can query the documents they are already authorised to access in SharePoint. Permission changes made in SharePoint are reflected without delay.
How do I set up Silo?
Silo is configured from "Connected apps" in the sidebar, either by connecting your existing SharePoint or by activating SharePoint storage provided by Silex. See the dedicated Silo articles for setup, storage allowances and troubleshooting.
