Troubleshooting Document Translator errors
Fixes for common Document Translator issues: the Translate button won't activate, upload errors, a stuck job, mistranslations, and download problems.
The "Translate" button doesn't activate.
Make sure a .doc or .docx file is properly loaded and that both source and target languages are selected. The button activates only once all required fields are set. If it remains inactive, try a different file or refresh the page.
I get an error at upload. What does it mean?
-
Unsupported format → Only .doc and .docx are accepted. Convert your file and retry.
-
File too large → Maximum is 100 MB. Split the document and retry.
-
Too many pages → Maximum is 400 pages. Split the document and retry.
-
Corrupted file → Re-save or re-export the original document, then upload again.
The agent is stuck on "Translation in progress..." with no result.
Wait a few minutes, as larger documents take longer. Navigate away and back to the Tools tab to check for the completed job. If nothing appears after 10-15 minutes, refresh the page or try a different browser. If the issue persists, contact support@silex.legal.
Where do I find my result if I dismissed the notification?
Go to Recents → Tools tab in the left sidebar. Your completed Translator job will be listed there by file name.
The download didn't work or the file won't open.
Try a different browser. If PDF download fails, try the DOCX option instead. If the problem persists, contact support@silex.legal.
The Toolkit is not visible in my interface.
Try refreshing the page. If the Toolkit tab is still missing, contact support@silex.legal.
I selected the wrong language pair. Can I re-run the job?
Yes. Go back to the Toolkit, reopen the Translator, re-upload your document with the correct language pair selected, and click Translate again.
The translation missed or mistranslated a legal term. What should I do?
Download the DOCX and correct the term manually. Report the issue using the in-app feedback tool with the original term and your preferred translation, or contact support@silex.legal directly — this helps the team improve accuracy for Swiss legal terminology.
The Terminology notes are missing or incomplete. Why?
This can happen if the document contained few identifiable legal terms, or if the "Keep terminology notes" toggle was off at the time of upload. Re-run the job with the toggle enabled if you need the full glossary.
